Fundatia New Life , Amara, Romania
‘Fundatia New Life’ is a small charity in Romania which cares for a small group of young men with physical and learning disabilities who live in a house specially purchased for them in the village of Amara, near Slobozia, east of the capital Bucharest.
Since they arrived at Amara House, the young men have become very different from the boys they were in the grim, state institution where they lived before. They now enjoy good food, correct medication and stimulating activities and follow suitable programmes to develop their potential. They have gained confidence and are happy and relaxed because for the first time in their lives they feel secure and loved. They are cared for by Romanian staff and have become part of local village life. The boys enjoy growing vegetables and caring for the chickens in the garden at Amara House.

It costs £1000 per month to run Amara House so our money really will make a difference.
